1. Identify where to install The Cat Protector in your engine bay, normally on the firewall near the fuse box.
2. The Cat Protector device can be attached using the included plastic wire ties to any sturdy part which does not move or with the included small self tapping screws.
3. Connect the wire marked "12V DC in" to the included piggyback fuse connector with enough of the included red wire to easily reach the fuse box. All wires must be routed and properly secured.
4. Connect the wire marked "Vehicle ground" to a suitable existing ground bolt or screw an included self tapping medium screw into the firewall and attach with a piece of the included black ground wire.
5. Install the "theft sensing strap" along the top of your exhaust on both sides of the converter as detailed in the included instructional diagrams and the videos on this site.
6. Use the included heat hardening wrap to totally cover and secure the "theft sensing strap" around the exhaust pipe on both sides of the converter. Do not wrap the converter as it gets extremely hot. If you need more wrap, use JB Weld Tiger Wrap available at most auto part stores.
7. Attach included wire to each of the two connectors labeled "theft sensing strap". Use sufficient wire to pass down to the plugs on the end of the cut sensor strap. Attach the included snap in female connectors to the end of both wires and snap them over the male connectors pre-installed on the "theft sensing strap".
8. Ensure the section of "theft sensing strap" which passes above/below the converter is firmly secured against the vehicle's floor panel or to the converter's heat shield using included steel wire ties.. The "theft sensing strap" should not touch the converter and should not dangle or move excessively.
9. Attach a section of the included red wire to the connector marked "horn or relay". Use enough wire to comfortably reach the positive connector on your vehicle's horn and route/secure this wire properly.
10. Remove a fuse which is the same size as the included piggyback fuse adapter, insert the piggyback adapter, insert the fuse you just removed into the lower location on the piggyback adapter and insert the included fuse in the top location. Select a fuse location which is always powered. Some fuses are only powered when the ignition is on - do not use a fuse location which does not have power when the ignition is off or The Cat Protector will not work when the ignition is off.
Your system is now installed and it is time to conduct a simple test: unplug one side of the "theft sensing strap" where it plugs into The Cat Protector - (the connectors in the engine bay). This breaks the circuit and sounds the alarm, either the car's horn or optional alarm siren. If you installed the optional high intensity LED lights, they will flash.
